Welcome to
Musical Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit teaching organization that provides free, weekly music lessons to hospitalized children. Musical Angels teaches young patients to actively participate in the joyful and healing process of making music with their own hands and hearts.
Musical Angels provides free piano lessons to children ages six and up while they are at the hospital. Musical Angels also provides group music lessons for babies, toddlers and preschool children given by early childhood music specialists.
Music is a powerful, non-invasive medium that assists in reducing fear and anxiety. Musical Angels believes that the process of the child making music with their own hands and hearts improves their quality of life and help in the healing process. Visit the Music Power Page for more information about the benefits of music.
The three words that describe Musical Angels are:
LOVE
JOY
HOPE
Teachers teach with much LOVE and they give their time and talent to teach these precious children to make music with their own hands.
JOY is the first response when children hear the sounds that they make with their own hands at the piano. A big smile and pure joy are immediately visible when children make music.
The HOPE of continuing with music lessons and perhaps playing in future recitals and festivals is what many children experience after they take a few lessons at the hospital. Many times small recitals are given at the hospitals for the doctors and nurses!
Musical Angels is part of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's program
HeartStrings. The HeartStrings Program invites non-profit organizations
serving people with limited means to attend free concerts. Currently, over 40 organizations participate in the program and Musical Angels is one of them!
